I just finished a week out in Anaheim, California with artists and exhibitors exploring great new gear and music. I was able to reestablish some great contacts, see old friends, and of course lust after amazing new instruments and gear. I continue to be impressed with the boutique piano builder Ravenscroft Pianos and will continue to use their virtual recreation of their grand piano on my electronic gigs and shows. The line up from Korg, Roland, Yamaha, and Nord all continue to be stellar and Yamaha's new synth "The Montage" looks to be a great new generation building on the Motif XF series. Spent a little time looking at the new controller keyboards from StudioLogic and the action seems very solid much like the old warhorse Fatar actions of old. I am curious to see how those sell. Got to spend an evening out on Laguna beach, one of my favorite destinations. Of course there were a bunch of great bands, new friends, and a whole lot of fun. I look forward to seeing everyone out there again in 2017.
